Chinese new year shopping

Since I am unfortunately unable to return to the motherland this Chinese New Year, the next best thing to do is engage in some online shopping and hope it arrives on time. I can't find any US online clothing or accessories stores that have specifically Chinese New Year sales, or have specifically Asian fashions. If you know of any, please leave me a note in the comments. Or else, I guess I could do another Forever 21 run, but that would just be so predictable, not to mention I already did their online Black Friday sale, as well as Boxing Day sale at Forever 21 in Destiny USA (pics to come soon).

Painted Hand print foot print plaster casts

I was talked into paying $25 for 3 plaster casts of my son's hands and feet. I thought it included painting but no, the artist ran out of time and said she would mail the paints to me, never got them :(

On top of that she wrapped them in paper towels, causing them to Mold. I gave the only non moldy one to my aunt to bring back for grandma (great grandma to my son). I spent a couple hours using nail polish (essie trophy wife and mochaccino) to paint the remaining two. After which my mom decided she wants to keep them and not give  as Christmas presents.

About this blog

I started Miss Bimbo Girl blog in 2009 when i started playing Miss Bimbo. There were plenty of websites bashing the game, but hardly any by players playing the game itself. Time went on and eventually i stopped playing: according to my hazy memory i think i got stuck on a particularly long level, and then school, work, wedding planning, and moving came along and i abandoned the game for good. 

I started taking a greater interest in nail art / fashion/shopping/lifestyle blogging mid-2013. I don't want to limit myself to one topic e.g. nails,  and also don't want to overwhelm my friends and followers of my personal Facebook page so I decided to create a blog to post frivolous things. Since i already had the url http://missbimbogirl.blogspot.com i decided to just continue blogging here. I've started and abandoned blogs and subdomains more times than i can count, we'll see if this one sticks. 

In January 2014 i decided to log into my old Miss Bimbo account but website is closed. Like, Miss Bimbo (English version) is done. Over. The original French version Ma Bimbo, however, is still up. Claire's 2014 haul

So I went shopping on the last shopping day of the year. 

I think prices jump back to normal on Jan 1.

Or so I say to give myself an excuse to shop, and then a reason to curb my enthusiasm and make new resolutions for the new year.

Not like I'll need it if I shop at Claires...

I know there comes a time in a girl's life where it starts being weird to wear things targeted at teenagers

I dread that day coming, but I am turning 30 this year (eek!)

This quote comes to mind "It's ok if the statement your statement piece makes is 'I still shop at that place at the mall that targets teenagers'"

That being said, I'd gladly pay $23 including tax for 2 "statement" necklaces, a pair of earrings, and sunglasses

New year party nails

So My car was totaled and towed to the lot. I had a chance to get my important stuff out of the car before it was scrapped. I noticed a bottle of nail polish in the snow near the car, I did not know if it came from my car or somewhere else, but I don't remember ever buying it. Anyway I brought it home and washed it off and painted it on my nails for the new year party. I blogged about my outfit in the previous post.

Verdict: great coverage in one coat - in fact you sort of have to only use 1 coat or it goes on way too thick and uneven

They also weren't kidding about the fast drying formula - My thumb was practically dry before i finished my pinky

The color is also pretty much what I expected, red in some lights and dark pink in others

Of course I don't know how much of it is the original formulation and how much of it is due to sitting outside in subzero snow and ice for an indeterminate period of time. 

Even if nothing else, I got to try a new color and add to my collection without spending a dime, thus maintaining my perma-No buy.

Hi everyone!
I don't play Miss Bimbo any more (for now at least), so this blog is now a lifestyle/fashion blog for stuff I like.
